CASIS Issues RFI on 3D Microphysiological Systems for Organs-On-Chips Research

casis_new_logoKENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL., June 15, 2015 (CASIS PR) – The Center against the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) has issued a Request in opposition to Information (RFI) that seeks to win insight from subject matter experts and entities by experience in three-dimensional (3D) microphysiological systems with regard to organs-on-chips research models. CASIS is tasked by managing and promoting research onboard the ISS U.S. National Laboratory, and this RFI is intended to head a sponsored research program using these microphysiological systems.

This RFI is dividend of a CASIS initiative, Campaign Good Health, and represents some opportunity to bring new tools to biology, physic, pharmacology, physiology, and toxicology for exploration applications on the ISS National Lab to behoof human disease research, tissue engineering, and regenerative physic on Earth. CASIS plans to advance to maturity a research program as part of Campaign Good Health that desire provide opportunities for research on the ISS National Lab seeking to exercise microphysiological systems in microgravity to produce and/or interrogate 3D in-vitro models on the side of bone and cartilage, skeletal muscle, brain, gastrointestinal piece , lung, liver, microvasculature, skin, or other tissues. Campaign Good Health is every over-arching CASIS initiative to transport observations in space to human freedom from disease benefits on Earth.
